Care Assistant

Stellar Care is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide support to clients in their own homes. As a Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals by assisting with their daily living activities and promoting their independence. Your responsibilities will include personal care, medication management, companionship, and household tasks.

Responsibilities:
  • Personal Care: Assist clients with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, and grooming according to their preferences and needs.
  • Medication Management: Ensure clients take their medication as prescribed, follow proper dosage instructions, and maintain accurate medication records.
  • Companionship: Engage in meaningful conversations, and activities, and provide emotional support to promote well-being and reduce feelings of loneliness.
  • Daily Living Activities: Assist with tasks such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, and shopping, considering the individual’s abilities and preferences.
  • Mobility Support: Help clients with mobility issues, including transfers, walking, and using assistive devices to ensure their safety and comfort.
  • Observation and Reporting: Monitor clients’ health and well-being, observe any changes in their condition, and report concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals or families.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client care, including daily activities, progress notes, and any incidents or changes in their condition.
  • Respect and Dignity: Treat clients with respect, and empathy, and maintain their dignity while providing care and support.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in a care-related role, preferably in a home care setting.
  • Compassionate nature and a genuine desire to support and assist individuals in their own homes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
  • Empathy and understanding towards the physical and emotional challenges faced by clients.
  • Ability to follow care plans, and instructions, and adhere to health and safety guidelines.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and willingness to work weekends or evenings if required.
  • A valid driving license and access to a reliable vehicle is preferred but not essential.
